The purpose of this educational resource is to assist undergraduate healthcare students to view people with dementia and carers talking about their experience of symptoms, diagnosis and living with dementia, prevalence in Australia and supports discussion with a guide.

 

Caring for Indigenous people with dementia in remote areas: Perspectives from the Northern Territory  

This resource provides undergaduate healthcare students with a brief view of the uniqueness of the experience of supporting people with dementia and their carers in urban, regional and remote communities in the Northern Territory.  The DVD and workbook will give students the opportunity to discuss cultural, language and georgraphical issues that may arise in the context of delivering services to Indigenous Australians.

 

Palliative Care

 

This resource is to provide health rpofessionals with an overview of end of life issues in caring for people with dementia.  National and international experts in dementia and palliative care have contributed to a discussion about the issues related to the palliative approach, staying at home, care at the end of life and supproting carers. 

 


 Come into My World The aim of this resource is to educate undergraduate health care students about how to interact with pople who have dementia using a person-centred approach in practice.
